3. Business – This is a great plan if you want to have your own free toll-free number, dedicated IP, and private SSL. Other than that, all the features are pretty the same as the baby plan. This is a great choice if you have a more established business, or want to avail of the extra features outlined here. You decide if it’s worth the extra cost.

SUMMING IT UP
PROS: Besides the features, where Hostgator absolutely excels is in their service. If you go to their homepage, you will find a small icon that says “Live Chat 24/7″. We tested this out at different times, and it really is 24/7. We were also pleasantly surprised with the professionalism of the reps – be it technical, sales, or billing. They are polite, and they are prompt. If you are having an issue with something the chat guys can’t handle, they tell you to email ‘Hostgator Support’. So you do that, and you get a response saying your issue will be addressed within the next 24 hours. You heave a sigh of despair, but hey! The email you have been waiting for is there in your inbox within twenty min. (I’ve tried this quite a few times, and they never fail to surprise me with their promptness).
Extremely helpful, these reps are trained to go the extra mile, and surprised us a few times with their know-how, and ability to deliver quick solutions. Backups are fast, and they will even walk you through.
Setting up domains, or adding domains are an absolute breeze through Cpanel, and if you need extra help, you could have an extra window open where you can have a technical support person walk you through any setup you like.
CONS: Very hard to answer this one. I guess if we had to choose, it would be that the email autoresponders are very basic and do not function in the Aweber fashion where you can load up messages in a sequence, and they go out on designated days. GVO, of course, on the other hand, provides this feature, in addition to what is probably the best income opportunity in online business. But there is a big price difference.
So you can’t complain. For that price, Hostgator is really very good. We did have one or two instances where the technical know-how of some of the reps varied from person to person, and this resulted us in having to ask the same question a couple of times, but that does not in any way negate the fact that overall, they were well-informed about their subject and they were very polite and courteous. Full marks on that!
OUR RECOMMENDATION:
If you want top quality web hosting on a budget, this has to be it. It doesn’t get any better than this! We suggest you get the baby plan, or start with 1 domain on the Hatchling plan, and then as you add your second domain, you can upgrade to the baby plan.
If you’re anything like us, you are probably looking easily at multiple sites over time. Once you do that, this brings the price down to just a few cents per month per domain! Let’s say you have 10 websites running after a couple of months. That makes it 80 cents a month per site!
